Middle Office Analyst
ROLE SUMMARY AND DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Middle Office function provides trade management, trading reporting & control and trading system support management and Investment Banking (“IB”) activities of Peel Hunt LLP and Peel Hunt Inc.
We are seeking a highly motivated Middle Office Analyst to join our team. This role will be a key part of the team that supports trading activities by ensuring accurate and timely trade booking, validation and lifecycle management across a range of asset classes. Working closely with our Traders in Execution Services, the Analyst will utilise Fidessa to monitor and process trade flow, resolve booking issues and liaise with internal teams, and external clients to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
This role requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of trade workflows, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced trading environment. Being a strong team player with the ability to build strong and effective working relationships with team members and broader stakeholders is essential.
This role may suit a candidate who has some experience in trade/execution support and who is looking to continue to build their experience and in Middle Office. Experience using Fidessa is highly desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Completing time sensitive, market-related, tasks ahead of market open
2. Daily best execution analysis
3. Daily controls and exceptions reporting reviews
4. Periodic costs analysis across market data, FIX and trading platform
5. Order management support for high touch and Low touch desks
6. Monitoring of trade reporting submissions
7. Project work, large and small
8. Fielding queries from external parties
9. Troubleshooting systematic and regulatory queries from internal parties
10. Managing static data records within FDM (Fidessa’s Data Manager)
11. Monitoring and rectifying exceptions within the trading system, including failures
12. Production of statistics for management reporting
13. Cross departmental collaborations
14. Production of procedural documentation
15. Supporting team members, particularly Execution Support, as and when required.
16. Actively supporting team projects and contributing towards team goals.
Key Capabilities and Knowledge:
• Previous experience in trade support and using Fidessa essential
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong verbal and numerical skills
• Proactive, self-motivated with a task-orientated approach
• Demonstrable experience in multi-tasking and prioritising heavy and varied workloads.
• Confident with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel & Word
• Ability to work well within a team
• Strong communicator and able to build effective working relationships
