The Role:

The Finance and Operations Principal reports directly to the CEO of PH Europe and acts as the deputy of the CEO. The Role is a multi-disciplinary role covering all aspects day-today of Peel Hunt’s Europe business with specific oversight and management of Peel Hunt Europe’s outsourced IT, Finance and Operations functions.

Role Responsibilities:

The Role is a multi-disciplinary role that covers all aspects of Peel Hunt’s Europe business:

Regulatory Environment

• Understand the Danish regulatory environment and have values and abilities consistent with the Danish FSA & European Regulations.

General Management oversight including

• Oversee the day-to-day client interactions and transactions undertaken
• Manage facilities
• Ensure adequate systems and controls
• Approve new clients
• Ensure continuous system and process improvements
• Project Management

Management of Outsourced Activities

• Perform oversight of the outsourced IT, Finance and Operations functions
• Maintain strong control environment over outsourced functions
• Review and sign off on material changes to key process, products, or business lines

Treasury

• Responsible for banking and custodian relationships
• Responsible for efficient and effective cash and FX management and settlement

Management information & Forecasting

• Prepare budgets and forecasts for PH Europe
• Continuous valuate the health of the business
• Report against performance metrics, monitor changes, and initiate change to improve performance
• Prepare financial analysis and financial reports

Policy and Procedure Management

• Prepare and update policies and procedures, as relevant

Internal Audit

• Work co-operatively and constructively with the Internal Audit function

Job Requirements:

The candidate can demonstrate the following skill set, capabilities and knowledge:

• Strong analytical approach and ability to understand quickly and deal flexibly with complex problem solving
• Self-starter, who is comfortable with coordinating ad-hoc and competing requirements and deadlines
• Comfortable in working in multi-disciplinary, changing, environment
• Consistent and high-quality approach to output produced (presentations, written reports, financial analysis)
• Ability to think both at an operational and strategic level
• Ability to communicate with all levels within the Peel Hunt Group
• Experience working in financial services, either in an in-house or advisory role
• Qualified accountant, c.5 years PQE (Preferable)
